About Me

{m} Dilahirkan pada Disember 1974 di Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia. Secara lahiriah, saya adalah pelukis/perekabentuk/pembuat kraf yang tidak pernah mengikuti jurusan ini secara formal dan telahpun menghasilkan karya seni untuk iklan cetak, multimedia dan filem sejak saya mulai mengenal huruf dan angka. Namun, saya memiliki campuran pendidikan formal dalam bidang seni filem daripada Akademi Seni Warisan dan Kebangsaan Malaysia (ASWARA) pada tahun 2008 dan sebelumnya dalam bidang Sains Komputer dari Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, 2002 dan Multimedia dari Universiti Utara Malaysia, 1999. Minat yang sentiasa bercambah dalam bidang seni visual membolehkan saya menulis dan menghasilkan karya seni animasi dan filem pendek sejak tahun 2001 hinggalah kini. Dalam masa yang sama, saya mempunyai kerjaya tetap sebagai Perunding Teknologi Maklumat dan Web Multimedia selama lebih 10 tahun dengan beberapa syarikat multinasional dan kebanyakan pelanggannya terdiri daripada agensi kerajaan, syarikat korporat, institusi pendidikan dan universiti serta individu-individu tertentu. Kerap kali menyertai pelbagai tayangan filem pendek di sekitar Klang dan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia dan di Institut Kesenian Jakarta, Indonesia. Sehingga tahun 2004, barulah saya sedari, saya tidak pernah lekang menulis hobi melukis walaupun telah meninggalkannya hampir 10 tahun. Semenjak itu, saya percaya, pencarian dalam kehidupan saya adalah melukis dan mengecat sebanyak-banyak mungkin kerana ianya dapat menggembirakan hati saya. Pembikinan filem pendek pula cabang kepuasan diri saya dalam menghasilkan seni dan kraf bergerak di atas seluloid. Pada masa kini, saya tinggal di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia dan menguruskan syarikat produksi multimedia dan label rekod bebas, Pekanmaya. By heart, I am a self-taught artist/illustrator/designer/image-maker and make arty-crafty seriously for ads, multimedia and film since I can remember. A mixture of formal education in Film Video Arts from National Arts Academy, 2008 and Computer Science from National University of Malaysia, 2002 and Multimedia from Northern University of Malaysia, 1999. I make and screen my shortfilm that close to my heart and mind. And, I have a collection of 10 years of experiences in various kind of web multimedia application development and training with government agencies, corporates, universities and individuals. I participated in various multimedia and film exhibitions and screenings frequently, and mostly in Kuala Lumpur and Institut Kesenian Jakarta, Indonesia. In 2004, I noticed that I never fail to write my hobby as drawing and painting eventhough I have left it for almost 10 years. Since then, I believe that my quest is to draw and paint happily ever after. Making film is ultimate passion to see my art and craft on celluloid. At the moment, I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and manage my own multimedia production company and independent record labels, named Pekanmaya.
